psst...

I've been knitting. 9.5 inches of both CPH sleeves. As is inevitable, the closer I get to completion, the more obsessive I become.

The goal? Wear the CPH in (or near) Central Park on November 10 when I drag my mama to NYC on an 8 hr. train ride to see Spam-A-Lot and back again the next day.

So, yes I've also been making travel plans to turn her 4-day weekend to visit her kid into the Sophanne and GHB version of Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

must go knit.

Oh, well, of course! If you have a chance to wear CPH in Central Park, you must take it. Get a picture. It's not every day such a perfect blogging opportunity falls into your lap!

BTW--I don't know if you read greenapples, but she just posted her CPH here: http://stitchywitch.wordpress.com/
She's a knitting machine. Everything she makes takes, like, three days, and is gorgeous--and she's petite and beautiful. But if you can get past that, she's wonderful!

Yes, Green Apples is so speedy, but that's the breaks of the ol' ballgame when you are super skilled and petite! I am wanting so badly to do the CPH. MUST RESIST urge to cast on!!

greenapple's cph was great- I think i was "petite" in 3rd grade- I didn't know how to knit then.

I love that movie! It's a classic. You'll be done with CPH by then. No problem! Hope you'll have time for some yarn shopping too.

Clearly my mother will be John Candy... duh. i have to be the rental car clerk- oh but then I'll have to be Steve Martin too. Note to self- get multiple personality checked out.

How far along are you on your TYC? If you're cabling, try using stitch markers between the pattern repeats. I used one color for the first and another for the second so there was never any confusion about where I was. It helped tremendously.
Good luck!!

Just don't throw mama from the train... eesh sorry, that's terrible.

I put a stitch marker in between each pattern repeat. For the size I made (38"), each pattern repeat was done 10 times, so I had 11 markers of each color I think. At first, I had 10 sts between each marker, and after increasing I had 14, then 18. The pattern repeats shift, so I had to shift my markers at that time. I think I had 11 markers of each color, and I knew I was at the center section when the next marker was a different color. Does that make sense?

Awesome job with CPH. Love that you are doing both sleeves at once. You will achieve your finished knit goal for CPH! That movie was one of my favorites. I don't know how many times I've watched it.
