Pete and Repete- I mean just Repeat

Here's why-

Last week I stumbled upon a children's picture book

based on Bob Dylan's song, Forever Young. It's been a little ribbon of a theme running through life these days as the school year ends and the summer begins. And while I've never been a big fan of the sound of his voice, that Bob Dylan can sure write some poetry.

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,

May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,

May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,

May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Google the Joan Baez version of this song. It's one of my favorite songs. Ever.

Love that song. Why is it not in my iTunes? Must remedy that.

We went to see Dylan in concert in about 2002 or 2003. He did something in his singing that kinda blew me away. Instead of attempting to sing the melodies of his songs, he sang only notes that were an octave apart, plus occasionally throwing in the fifth. For example, if the song were in C, he would sing only middle C, the C above middle C, and the G in between. It was amazingly effective.
