House of Sophanne went on a field trip today to the Greene County Ramp Festival. I don't know the ins and outs of ramps but have read that school children used to be sent home for smelling like ramps. We did not eat ramps but watched others eat raw ramps, deep fried ramps, ramp burgers and drink ramp wine.
There were the high-tech corn dog makers,
The deep fried ramps,
A man and his ramps
The redneck windchimes
The "For Rednecks By Rednecks" booth
And still, in a corner there was some beauty to be found.

not big on ramps here, however they are pretty tasty with fried potatoes!
LOL! @ windchime! ;op
Glad you had a good time!
Oh ramps are wonderful. I hate gathering and cleaning them though. Hubby dug some up last year and planted them in the garden last year.
I love food festivals. Especially the ones in honour of the odder things. Like ramps!
i was thinking of going to the festival. hubby went bike riding instead.
What the heck is a ramp? (I note that Billy Bob and Ella Mae seem to be enjoying them.)
Another Californian wondering what IS a ramp??
I'm with the other two up there - what the heck is a ramp??
