pen and paper and baking

The first baked item appeared last night in the form of brownies from a mix. No need to start too eagerly. It took only 5 minutes for the oven to preheat (as opposed to an hour) and they were done when the package said they would be. Success.

New pots are t-fal non-stick inside and out.

German cinnamon braid is rising (I hope) as I write. I think I may still have a few many things to learn about yeast and how to make it work.

I've always loved pen and paper. The perfect present for me pre-yarn was any kind of writing utensil and a blank sketch book. So a new favorite thing is the idea of zentangles. I've seen them on line. I ordered a book. Pens arrived before the book and I played around using some of the ideas I saw when I googled zentangle images.

That's a great drawing. I'm going to look up this zentangling to find out more about it. One of the things I want to do more of is drawing/painting, even though I'm not very good at it, yet!

I had never heard of zentangles, but the idea is fascinating. Have fun!

I've never heard of Zentangles before, but I googled it and now I'm absurdly fascinated. I just ordered pens, but I'm going to go dig some up and play around myself. It seems incredibly appealing right now. I've been finding knitting is not working for me right now; I think with my new job, which is taking a huge part of my mental energy, and the high degree of general stress I'm having trying to juggle professional and family life, I just can't concentrate on anything else. This seems like a really mindless sort of activity--almost automatic. I can't wait to try it!

That is so cool. And, a working oven? Watch out! You'll get used to it.

Wayyy cool! Time to sit down and make a list of all the things I want to look into doing after I finish some of the things from the last list.
