fall

I know that fall "begins" on Friday, but...

Somewhere around 12:20 pm today I felt my own internal equinox. Those green tomatoes in the garden don't have much longer to turn red, the corn stalks that made only rubbery sort of corn (not unlike the clay they were mostly growing in) are really only autumn decor, the September rain that is falling isn't that cold sort yet but reminds you of what it will feel like, and the felted clogs feel more comforting than constricting.

Yeah, Demeter has her suitcase out and the packing has started. Persephone is headed back to do her wifely duty with Hades, and the whole northern hemisphere is gonna pay the price.

Dude, I'm seriously hot in Cali. Clearly the fall memo has been lost in the mail. I do know it's "fall" because I'm eating my second bag of candy corn. I LOVE candy corn.

...and we are all getting the itch to find something woolly to wear. Happily, we all have the means to cure THAT itch.
