CMUS dreams...

I know Miss Manners says it's rude to share dreams with other people but... Last night I had a dream that I was on an Alaskan Knitting cruise. We were sailing in cold waters and I was trying to get my sweater finished in time so that I wouldn't be too cold. It was so exciting. I'm certain this melty weather is the cause.

Having never been on a cruise, I can't really imagine a knitting one or for that matter any kind at all- anyone have any cruise ship stories to share?

Well, I've never been on a cruise, but my parents went on one about 5 years ago and my (majorly diabetic) dad was almost put into a coma by the 'Midnight Dessert Avalanche' that was held on a daily basis!

I've never been on a cruise either. Honestly, I'm not too crazy about the whole ship out in the middle of the ocean thing. Control issues I'm sure.

But I'd love to do one of those knitting cruises. I think yarn could get me on the ship.

Oh, and as for your comment about clutter... oh yeah! Everywhere here.

I've never been on a cruise -- yet! -- but I thought long and hard about signing up for Sea Socks 2008. Then my better self intervened to tell me that the money would be better spent on finishing our remodeling so that our house would finally be done. Oh well, maybe another year.

As much as I love Miss Manners, I think interesting dreams are definitely worth sharing and make good blogging material. So there.

I went on a cruise--once. We took our two boys (then 8 and 5) and got the biggest "suite" on board. It was supposed to be a two-bedroom with two king beds. I suppose if you count a night table as a wall and a tiny couch as a king bed, it was. At the end of the four days (during which one kid wanted to roam the ship the entire time and the other refused to leave the room, and they fought incessantly) I was ready to throw myself overboard. I think a knitting cruise would be wonderful, but only if I could go without kids!

Sign me up!! A knitter's only cruise, no kids, no husbands and definitely no dirty bathrooms.
I don't even think I would care where it sailed to.

My grandparents got really into the whole cruising thing. They went all over and around South America, through the Panama Canal, etc. They couldn't get enough of it. By time they went on the last one, they had enough clout with the company that they had a baby grande piano in their suite. Crazy.

I went on a scuba trip in Australia - I had to take dramamine the whole time to avoid being sea sick below deck. Above deck, I was fine. Not sure about knitting on a boat though. I couldn't read or take my eye off the horizon for long enough to see what I was doing.

"F" Miss Manners! I love hearing about other people's dreams. What a wonderful dream! That's just about the only kind of cruise I would go on. A Knitting Cruise! Yeah!

The only cruise I've ever been on insured I would never go on another one - although a knitting cruise to Alaska would be fun. And yup, there have been several knitting cruises offered.
