What a nurse shouln't say...
no matter how well meaning she is-
"if he dies while you're at lunch, God meant for it to happen."
Thankfully we have left that part of the hospital and have moved to palliative care.
"God? You mean that superstitious construct embraced by 'Christians'?" is what you could have said. Right before you smacked her. Sheesh.
